Best Practices
Question Design
✅ Do:
- Write clear, unambiguous questions
- Use a mix of question types to test different knowledge areas
- Assign higher points to more important or difficult questions
- Provide hints for complex questions
- Write explanations to help users learn from mistakes
❌ Don't:
- Make questions too easy or too obvious
- Use trick questions that test reading comprehension rather than knowledge
- Create extremely long questions that are hard to read
Quiz Configuration
✅ Do:
- Set realistic pass rates (60-80% is common)
- Allow multiple attempts for complex training (2-3 attempts)
- Enable feedback and correct answers for learning-focused quizzes
- Randomize questions for high-stakes assessments
- Use single attempts for compliance certification
❌ Don't:
- Set pass rates at 100% unless absolutely necessary
- Disable feedback on learning-focused training
- Create quizzes with only 1-2 questions
- Make every question worth the same points if some are more important
Content Strategy
✅ Do:
- Align quiz questions directly with training content
- Include questions that test practical application, not just memorization
- Update quizzes when training materials change
- Test your quiz before making it live
Troubleshooting
"User can't see the quiz"
- Verify the quiz is set to Active in Quiz Settings
- Confirm the user has completed all training modules
- Check that the quiz is properly assigned to the document
"User exceeded attempts but needs to retake"
- Use the Reset User Attempts option in the Attempts tab
- This will allow them to try again regardless of the attempt limit
"Need to update questions after users have taken quiz"
- You can edit questions at any time
- Previous attempt scores remain unchanged
- New attempts will use the updated questions
