Navigating the BlueDocs interface
BlueDocs is designed to be intuitive, efficient, and easy to use. Whether you're an admin setting up your first documents or a team member accessing onboarding materials, understanding the interface will help you move quickly and get more done.
This guide walks through the main navigation areas, what you’ll find in each section, and how to move around the platform with confidence.
🖥️ The Sidebar Navigation
The left sidebar is your primary navigation hub. From here, you can jump to the major areas of the platform:
- Dashboard – High-level metrics on team activity, training, and compliance
- SOPs – Standard Operating Procedures: step-by-step guides and internal processes
- Knowledge Base – Internal help center and self-serve documents
- Training – Training modules and onboarding paths
- Policies – Company-wide policies that require review and acknowledgment
- Pages – Curated document hubs, onboarding flows, or department portals
- Analytics – Detailed activity and engagement reporting
Each section is role-sensitive — so you’ll only see what you have permission to access.
📊 Dashboard Overview
Clicking Dashboard gives you a visual overview of your workspace’s performance:
- Total documents, users, training completions
- Utilization rate (logged-in users this month)
- Graphs for onboarding progress, policy engagement, and more
- Most viewed content and engagement trends
- Skill coverage radar to highlight training gaps by team
Use this space to track compliance, identify low-performing areas, and guide next steps.
📄 SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
The SOPs section is where you’ll find your organization’s documented processes.
Features include:
- Folder structure for organizing SOPs
- Filters by category or folder
- Document cards that show status (e.g. Completed, Not Started)
- A Create SOP button to start a new process doc
Clicking an SOP allows you to edit content, add images, and assign it to users or teams.
📚 Knowledge Base
This is your internal self-service hub for FAQs, how-tos, and reference articles.
You can:
- Browse by category
- Use search to quickly find answers
- Publish, edit, and organize articles
- Link knowledge base docs into other areas like SOPs or Pages
Perfect for support teams or onboarding FAQs.
🎓 Training
The Training tab lets you build and assign structured learning paths.
Each training module:
- Includes multiple units or sections
- Tracks individual and team progress
- Supports embedded documents, text, video, and assessments
Admins can edit modules and assign them with deadlines and reminders.
🧾 Policies & Compliance
This section ensures your team is aware of critical company policies.
Here you’ll find:
- Tabs for Pending Review, Accepted, and All Policies
- Cards showing each policy’s summary, department, and update status
- Filters by category and folder
- A quick + Add Policy button
Each policy supports version control, acknowledgment tracking, and audit trails.
📑 Pages
Pages allow you to bundle documents into themed hubs — ideal for onboarding flows, department portals, or event resources.
You can:
- Add sections and hero banners
- Embed documents from anywhere in BlueDocs
- Drag and drop to rearrange layout
- Control visibility by role or team
Use this to create high-impact experiences like “Start Here” pages.
📈 Analytics
The Analytics area breaks down activity by:
- User Logins
- Document Views
- Training Completion
- Policy Acknowledgment
- Exportable reports and filters by date or team
Use this data to refine documentation, follow up with disengaged users, or measure rollout success.
🔍 Search Bar
Located at the top-right of every screen, the search bar helps you find anything across BlueDocs — documents, policies, SOPs, training modules, etc.
Start typing keywords, and results will populate instantly based on your access.
✏️ Editing Documents
In any document view (SOP, training, knowledge base), you’ll see a top menu with:
- Formatting options (headers, bullets, bold/italic)
- Embedding tools (images, code blocks, tables)
- Status selectors (Draft, Published, Archived)
Use the feature image and content block areas to create visually engaging documentation.
🛎️ Profile & Settings
Click your initials in the top-right corner to:
- Edit your profile
- Manage notifications
- Access workspace and user settings (admin only)
- Log out
✅ Quick Navigation Tips
- Use breadcrumbs at the top of most pages to go back a step
- Pin or assign documents for users to access instantly
- Hover over sidebar icons for tooltips when collapsed
- Use the + New Document button in the top-right to quickly create from anywhere
