Tracking learner progress and completions
BlueDocs offers powerful and granular tracking capabilities that allow organizations to monitor learner progress, completion rates, and engagement across all types of training content. Whether you're overseeing onboarding, compliance, or ongoing development, the built-in analytics and assignment tracking tools give administrators and managers full visibility into who is learning what—and how well.
This article explains how learner progress tracking works in BlueDocs, how to access and interpret the data, and how to use it to drive continuous improvement in training delivery.
BlueDocs monitors learning progress via its assignment engine and interactive content modules. Assignments—whether linked to a training document, training module, policy, SOP, or a custom document type—are automatically tracked once assigned to a user.
Each assignment falls into one of four clearly defined statuses:
Pending (Not Started): The learner has not yet opened the training.
In Progress: The training has been accessed, but not completed.
Completed: The learner has viewed or completed the assigned content.
Overdue: The training has passed its due date without completion.
These statuses are color-coded and visible throughout the interface to both users and admins.
When a training module contains multiple sub-modules or sections, BlueDocs calculates learner progress as a percentage:
Each module completed brings the learner closer to full completion, with a dynamic progress ring and percentage displayed.
Users can view their own training progress directly from the Dashboard.

📘 Overview of the Progress Tracking System
BlueDocs monitors learning progress via its assignment engine and interactive content modules. Assignments—whether linked to a training document, training module, policy, SOP, or a custom document type—are automatically tracked once assigned to a user.
Assignment Status Types
Each assignment falls into one of four clearly defined statuses:
Pending (Not Started): The learner has not yet opened the training.
In Progress: The training has been accessed, but not completed.
Completed: The learner has viewed or completed the assigned content.
Overdue: The training has passed its due date without completion.
These statuses are color-coded and visible throughout the interface to both users and admins.
Progress Calculation for Modules
When a training module contains multiple sub-modules or sections, BlueDocs calculates learner progress as a percentage:
Progress % = (Completed Modules ÷ Total Modules) × 100
Each module completed brings the learner closer to full completion, with a dynamic progress ring and percentage displayed.
